Perhaps this subject has been beaten to death, but I will press on anyways. It also seems that New England is a little behind the times anyways. No one seems to know or understand the concept of micro blogging. It could open up your world to so many more people and ideas.

Why Twitter? What does it have to offer you? I guess the best way that I could make any arguement, if you want to call it that, would be to tell you what it has offered me. I have had countless talks with some of my staff at work as to what twitter is and why it even makes sense.

Is it just a bunch of status updates? – IT’S SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT!!

It has offered me insight on some of the most interesting people I have ever “met.” From some of our generations greatest thinkers, designers, porn stars, and just family and friends. Everyone I follow has something interesting to offer. It has given everyone the opportunity for everyone to create their own collection of one-liners. It has brought many businesses right to their customers and vice versa. A more intimate communication with the customer that has perhaps renewed their faith in the companies love so much.

Who is on Twitter? – Well if you don’t know by now then perhaps you should just not even be present on the internet in general.

Multi-million dollar companies have utilized this tool and so has the mom and pop restaurant you frequent every week.

CNN has utilized it for communicating directly with people from different political and fiscal topics.

Artists/Photographers – post pictures of their newest works for you to check out.

The overall point of this not to annoy countless people with mundane crap that no one cares about. Quite the contrary, to bring everyone together and share their experiences in this world. To make this world a more bearable place. I have been able to share a lot of what I am doing through out the day. Post funny pictures from my phone that I thought only I could think was funny before. Now the I can share it with the entire world. I have found it also to be a great place to post a link to new posts that I have on my website so I can reach another audience. If you don’t believe me then follow some of these people (Please don’t take it personally if you didn’t make the list):

@the99percent

@ricksanchezcnn

@counterburger

@shagnast2100 – of course I had to shamelessly promote myself

@hrrrthrrr

@vannatheband

A while back I had discovered an album of photographs. A collection of photos from photographer, Sam Taylor-Wood, that show some of the most masculine actors known today in tears. Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, and Daniel Craig are a few of the actors depicted. These are men that have chosen to be everyone, but themselves their entire lives. Now you can see the vulnerable and HUMAN inside of them. Artwork by Sam Taylor-Wood on White Cube. Check out Taylor’s stuff and many other photographers work on White Cube.

“Some of the men cried before I even finished loading the camera, but others found it really difficult. People can decide for themselves which they think are the authentic tears and which they think are fake. It’s about the idea of taking these big, masculine men and showing a different side.”

- Sam Taylor-Wood

Who is Gabriela Marquez? I stumbled upon her work while browsing Spraygraphic.com. Her unique eye caught mine and I couldn’t help but bring her work directly to you

all.

I was born in Puebla, Mexico. I

grew up there, like a normal kid, playing, attending to school, so normal that my parents thought I would become a doctor or an architect or an engineer, they never suspected I’d decide to go for advertising.

Graduated in 1999 in Advertising with specialization in Marketing in Mexico.
I made my social service at the State University’s radio station (Radio BUAP) as producer and coordinator for the radio program of Classic music “Dialogos con la Musica” at the same time I was Chief editor and concept creator for the cultural magazine Citaris until 2002

In 2002, I worked in Photopia production house which clients included furniture designers, Radio and Communication Company and politic campaigns. My functions were: to develop Marketing strategies, creation of storyboards and copywriting for TV and radio commercials.

During this time I did freelance jobs, sometimes as a designer, or as creative director, photographer, project manager, cameraman…

In 2003 I leave Mexico and travel to Europe, basically just traveling and doing small freelance design jobs on the way.

In 2004 I moved to Dubai; I was hired by an advertising agency as a Jr. Art Director. While I got familiarized with the Middle East market I made time to travel around and keep collecting experience and pictures; After 2 years in 2006 I joined a new company where I started to specialize particularly in brand marketing, corporate communication and advertising mainly related to the real estate industry of this country, which is very fast speed changing.

I resigned recently because I am interested to start to experiment in “new” areas of marketing and advertising, specially online and viral and interactive (my previous job had some limitations of priority- budget -execution- regarding this.)

If you ask me I don’t have a concrete project for the future, now that I am taking a break I think I will spend some time doing what I enjoy the must, traveling and photography.
