@shagnast2100

That is all you need to know. Some of you see my feed scrolling on the side bar. I know this is slightly off topic, but I felt the need to bring it up. It’s about time that you either joined up or just follow along with me. A lot of my tweets are gateways to future posts and can sometimes be viewed as gateways into topics that I talk about here. It’s also a great place for bonus material on my day/life. Often times I do get a chance to write about everything that happens or it’s just not big enough to, so twitter is short and sweet enough to get my point across. It is filled with pictures, videos and texts of all the great things that are tom shaggy.

Suddenly images aren’t working on the blog and it’s pissing me off. I have writing ADD and tend to write different paragraphs and add images at different times. My gift and curse. Before I throw my computer across the room I am going to end this writing and let you all carry on with your day. I do have a small little shorty short story to share with everyone tomorrow/this morning. When I wake up I will head down to the coffee shop and write it up for everyone.

side note: #quoteoftheday 80 year old woman “guess i’ll read arthritis today (magazine). i mean it’s the only good one here.”

Sunday, it’s never a very exciting day to want to do anything. Even though I don’t believe in the guy, Jesus got a day off, why can’t I, you know what I mean? Today was just one of those days. It rained off and on creating a very unmotivating feeling in the air. Not all hope was lost though because I was able to eat my face off an Indian Buffet. Then, after a few episodes of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” it was time for work. Sad Face. I want everyone to spend a few minutes a day and think about something that has already happened and you did not attend and then use your imagination, however fucked up it may be, to think of all the things that could have happened. Then, and only then, will you truly understand where I get all my inspiration.

Work is work. You fill in the blanks.

How about some trending topics? – What is surging on twitter right now?

#DearSummer (twitter): Dear Summer, bring some trending topics that people give a shit about. That is all.

#badhabit (twitter): Let the world know about your bad habits, from the gimp you keep in your basement to the habitual nail biting, nothing is taboo here. I’m thinking I could truly benefit from this hash tag and plan on taking full advantage of it.

#pleasetellmewhy (twitter): Now this one I know I could have a lot of fun with. I might spend a lot of the day answering people questions and being a total prick. I mean, hey, they asked for it. Looking for advice on twitter #pleasetellmewhy you feel the need to seek answers on such a platform, rhetorical or not.

sidenote: to balding guy with dreds. Please just chop off all your hair, you aren’t kidding anyone with that hair-do. Yes I’m sure it took a lot of patience to go it out that long, and just as much to deal with the agony of being made fun of every few minutes by your friends and foes.

It’s a Saturday and what a night I had. Day 110 was written in the confines of a comfortable Coffee and Tea House down the street from my house. When I walked outside and readied myself to continue on home to call it a day, I noticed that my car was missing. It was a (Day 110) 11:30 pm at this time and I began calling around to the local police departments trying to find out if my car either A) towed or B) stolen. At this point, I was hoping that it was stolen, being that there there was nothing of value in it, besides the car itself, and even that is questionable.

Day 111 begins…

After a few minutes of talking on the phone with both the West Hartford and Hartford Police Departments I had located my car and received word that I was able to actually pick up my car that night, but it would be $160. My night had just started. So the 15 minute trek to the towing place two town over, which doesn’t make sense in the first place, was only the beginning of my problems. Whoever it was that I was directed to was not the person at the towing place. The lot was completely locked up and not a sole in sight. When I called him back I asked him when I could expect someone to return to the lot. He told me that trucks come and go every 20-40 minutes. Great, I was either waiting a long time or a very long time. After waiting 40 minutes I called again and inquired once again where a fucking truck was, he responded by saying that he could have someone here in 20 minutes. All I could think of was, is this 20 minutes on this planet or on Planet Tow Truck? Surprisingly, the truck showed up 15 minutes later while I was pissing on their fence. I went over to the gentleman driving the truck. Gave him the $160 and ID and tried to plead my case with him, if only to vent. I should have known this jerk off had completely done his research on my case. I will now illustrate what this guy says in parentheses:

“So I know I parked in a parking lot that said I could potentially be towed, so fuck me I know, but I was only parked there for like an hour and a half. (2 hours…). The place was closed as well…(No, it was open, Kinkos was open), so I just don’t get it. Then the guy proceeded to draw me a diagram of the place I could park in that parking lot. Fuck him and his strategically placed rebuttals. May I remind this guy that he is driving a tow truck on the third shift.

This late night adventure climaxed at about 2 am when I finally entered my house and swan dove into my bed. I needed to be up in 6.5 hours for work. I didn’t fall asleep for another hour (5.5 hours) and it when I finally got to work at 9 am (6 hours) I was actually an hour late. For the first half of the day I was having trouble forming sentences and articulating my thoughts about and to my staff. Two coffees later, I was ready to go.

side note: want a quick buzz? get zero sleep the night before and crack an ice cold beer and drink it moderately fast, and take the edge completely off. who needs a dress code and $100. How about some jean cut offs, sleeveless flannel, $10 and a trip to the local liquor store to pick up a PBR tall-boy.

These two days have been the beginning of a rebuilding period in my life. For once in my life I need to think of what needs to be done and do it, rather than sitting on my heals and waiting for it to happen. Too many people lose focus, no goals are met, and in the end there is no resolve, only more questions.

That lonely feeling creeps in, the kind you just can’t shake. No matter how many people you surround yourself with, it’s like a cloak you wear with you on a 90 degree day. The busier you stay the more focused you become, but the down time because your worst enemy as you dwell on everything that makes you lonely. A vicious circle of negative emotions that doesn’t seem to have an end. On the other hand, one person’s misfortune because the next person’s dream come true. For every heartache there is love filling someone elses life. You can’t explain it, it’s just the way it is. I love hearing about all the romance that springs up around me. Whether it be for those who have never truly experienced it, or those who are rediscovering it.

I started taking an interesting in trending topics on twitter, buzzfeed, and just the web in general. Some of them are pretty funny, and I promise to start taking blogging to the next level regarding of them.

Trend 1 (twitter): Belieber: One who is a believer in Justin Beiber. Can someone tell me what is special about this kid? Did he save an entire country from starvation or donate all his allowance money to charity to help the Haitian earthquake survivors? I need to know, otherwise I will never be a Belieber.

Trend 2 (twitter): #IndonesiaWants30STM <—- which is a hash tag for how Indonesia wants 30 Seconds to Mars to have a tour in their country. Indonesia really? I can’t imagine that they 30STM is jumping for this trend to go viral. Well can’t be too bad I guess, with all the island hoping on Jared Leto’s ego and entertaining the densest population of Muslims in Southeast Asia. #fail.

Trend 3 (buzzfeed): John Gosselin’s Faux Hawk: Not only does he have the award for most irresponsible father in America, but to add insult to injury this cat just can’t give up the fight that he’s going bald. To illustrate my point, above is the link to his newest style balding faux hawk. Just give it up and shave your head man. Yes you will still look like a douche bag, but hey, if the shoe fits…wear it.

I understand the past couple days have been a little boring, but I have been working on a few side projects here and there that I will be posting soon so I can entertain a few more of you.

side note: i’m hoping that tom shaggy will be a trending topic soon so i can make fun of how ridiculous i am, making fun of people on my BLOG. #whoami?

Another Sunday passes and my streak of not eating any animal products and not going to church lives on. Jesus would be so disappointed with him. Though, I think that would be an interesting conversation with him, over a coffee of course. I could picture myself, as skeptical as I am, as far as him being the messiah and all, discussing why I have given up all that he put on the planet for me to enjoy. The conversation would be interrupted with periods of awkward silence constantly, mainly because Jesus could probably give a shit, but we would still cheers and go our separate ways at the end.

I have had many dreams of the end of the world lately. Not everyone dies, but there are massive floods, blizzards, or vast wastelands of deserts. It is scary, but at the same time it entertains and inspires my imagination. Luckily, no one in these dreams die. In one of the dreams I am controlling a very large vehicle and taking a corner at high speeds and my body goes numb quickly and I am almost falling asleep as the vehicle grinds up against the concrete barrier and my head smashes against the window.

Work? Do you really want to hear about my work day? Good because nothing exciting happened. The music selection, I have come to realize, is by far the worst out of any restaurant I have been in. I rather be listening to soap opera dialogue for 12 hours a day, without picture, then continue listening to this. There is only like a 2 hour window where the music picks up and is respectable. I closed the restaurant, locked the doors, shut off the lights and went home to my bed where I played video games for a short period of time and then feel asleep peacefully.

I began planning a hiking trip across Cape Cod this summer and am really stoked about it. I will be doing a few local hikes in the mean time to prepare myself for the long journey. If any of you local folk would like to tag along then you are more than welcome. Date has not been set yet, but let’s get the ball rolling! Bear Mountain hike will also be taking place, as well as most of the Appalachian Trail that extends through Connecticut. I encourage all who like a good outdoor adventure.

Tomorrow is my final day. To plan a final meal or plan the meal to start it all. Let’s just say that this is the last required meal of my veganism. I’m excited, and so should you.

Have you ever been so stressed at that you almost passed out? I have only felt like this a few times since I had seizure’s. I get myself worked up over something and it becomes a downward spiral of mental stability. I think that whatever is affecting me will actually give me a seizure, so I panic and need to quickly find an escape from whatever is stressing me out. Now, for the most part, it is work or some other situation which I am tied to so I am unable to escape it. This day was a little day, I was in the shower when my mind began racing about everything that had gone wrong in the past day or so and couldn’t stop. I finished up my shower as quickly as possible and made my way into my room, still trying to shake these thoughts that haunted me. There is no worse feeling that not feeling in control of your body.

Work was fun. Love the atmosphere when the people are packed in and we are serving up some of the best food in town. There is no greater feeling. Well, there is a greater feeling, but that is for a later discussion. I did find something a little strange today. I used the bathroom in the store next to ours, I was a little angry when I reached for the toilet paper that had a “portion control” device attached to it. It would only roll a certain wait and deliver 3 or 4 section of toilet paper at a time. How effing annoying is that? I don’t know about you, but I know that I like to arm myself with just enough so it doesn’t look like I just went on an Easter egg hunt in the swamp.

I didn’t go crazy on food today. A couple peanut butter and jelly sandwiches is all I needed to start my day and then finished it with a veggie burger and fries. If you’d like a good combination of veggie burger, then here it goes:

- Veggie Burger
- Mixed Greens
- Roasted Red Peppers
- Homemade Guacamole
- Grilled Onions
- Tomato
- Sprouts
- Toasted Bun (no butter)

YUM!

side note: i wish i owned a samurai sword and did battle with evil do-ers. #truth

So….APRIL FOOLS, I haven’t given up yet. Thought I would have some fun on the first day of April in 2010. 90 Days past, I finally deserve a little fun. I need to finish what I start and being 21 days into this new lifestyle, I’m not about to quit. It has been tough on some, but I feel great and want to continue to reap the benefits that my body feels.

I have yet to tell my dad about my all this and I’m starting to wonder what he is going to think, if I decide to continue, that I can enjoy some of our favorite meals anymore. My dad is that the outdoors man of the family and enjoys hunting and eating all the game he hunts. As of this moment, it would be against my lifestyle to do such things, but since I have not made a definitive stance on anything yet, I’m just doing this because it makes me feel good, nothing ethical.

Today, was probably the second best day of the year. It was around 70 degrees with a slight breeze. I opened the windows in my apartment, J spread out on the bed and did some homework and I finally put together the bookcase that I bought months ago. All of my movies fit inside and they are in alphabetical order. Yes I know, a bit anal, but to me it’s necessary. After that I grabbed lunch at whole foods and dinner took us over to Canton to make our visit to Flatbread. Another vegan pizza down into my belly, I ate 3/4 of the thing myself. Even a guy with my diet lifestyle can eat like a freaking pig. On our way to dinner I pranked her as well. I told her that I would be moving to California. I tried announcing it like it was no big deal at first, but she kept saying, “what?, what?,” and eventually had to look in her eyes and a) see the tears welling, and b) crack a smile of my own. I could no longer keep the story going. So I told her that I was just messing around. I guess, it’s good she didn’t really hear me because I would have been dealing with a lot of tears.

A coffee finished of the day and we packed it in early because of my body being so tired from baseball. Tomorrow I get new running shoes and I’m going to get myself back into shape so I’m not out of breath after running 90 feet. The vividness of my dreams returned the past couple nights and have charged my writing batteries and I’m ready to unleash hell on my keyboard this week. The dreams were so real I could feel the heat and cold in them. They took place across vast deserts and stone cold tundras.

side note: it is not always okay to be an individual, often times it takes a team to accomplish our most difficult tasks.

This is actually the third day that I have eaten on a strictly vegan diet, but as most of you have probably known I have not yet changed it to “Vegan Day.” This will be something that you will not see…ever. By the way, that featured picture was the most obnoxious one I could find. *chuckle* sorry.

Veganism is a diet and lifestyle that seeks to exclude the use of animals for food, clothing, or any other purpose.

I have underlined lifestyle because I respect that part of the definition. So much, in fact, that I am not willing to call myself vegan until I have fully embraced the concept into my lifestyle. I still have my leather belt and shoes and am probably still using some other products that contain some type of animal product or is being tested on animals. As of now, I just needed to break up the monotony of my own lifestyle so this seemed like a fun and educational change. Some vegans will despise me for it, but I am learning more and more everyday about the nature of “the beast.”

So the last two days were spent preying on all the delectable delights that are fruits, veggies, legumes, and other scrumptious snacks from mother earth. Whole foods is my new best friend. I have spent way to much time in there, probably 4 times these past two days. They know me by name and my how much of a pain in the ass I can be. I can see their eyes roll from the end of the hallway. Just kidding, they are very accommodating.

Once again my boss insists on telling me how much humans are meant to eat meat. I don’t even know how to respond anymore. He’s big argument seems to be that, “We have canine teeth so that is proof.” I give up. I constantly tell him that it has nothing to do with my absolute love for cows or small fuzzy things, but just a test of will and need for something new in my life. He still doesn’t understand.

Question for you vegans – Is yeast vegan? Why? I expect answers.

Another question for you vegans – Why did you become a vegan? I REAALLY want this answer.

One last thing, I just saw that they are re-making “Death At A Funeral.” Emphasis on the RE-MAKING, because it was originally an amazing British comedy. This is an all black cast with the exception of Luke Wilson. Now don’t mistake my disappointment with racism, because I think it will be funny, but what ever happened to originality. Does it not exist anymore? I’m upset they did not give credit where credit is due. I will see it, ONLY because I enjoyed the original and I believe Danny Glover will do a great job at playing the old, angry uncle. Don’t let me down Hollywood.

side note: “you know, lab chop…like lamp chop, but this one was created in a….lab.” – guess you had to be there.
