To reach that point in your life that at one point was seemingly unreachable takes courage and strength. To see your past that was once your present that helped shape your future was the drive you had inside, always, devotion taken to another level. To sit back and realize what you’ve done, if nothing on a large scale to the judging public, to you yourself is the most success. Smiles across your face and endless happiness in your heart. No regrets that come to mind, mistakes that were made are capitalized and underlined, but fonts can’t make them seem any worse; for it’s your acceptance in the words you write down that matters. I’ve realized to be on top you must come from the bottom. To see what’s right you must be wrong, sure…but you’re truly right when you’re not wrong again. We know what we should and shouldn’t do, but we can never truly criticize until we’ve walked in both pairs of shoes. Lived in both day and night, I know how it feels to do and be done out of spite. The only time I ever truly hated me, nobody knew because on my face that disappointment you would never see. That world crumbles hard and fast, when you finally realize it’s your self-happiness that you lack. To every end there’s a beginning, but how do you begin from the end that began when everything ended…a new path.

This is the day I met one of the most influential people in my life. She walked in off the street and was hired at the restaurant and I couldn’t keep my eyes off her. There was a strangeness about her that I did not quite understand until only a few months ago. This short, blonde haired beauty caught my attention with her high level of energy. Always excited to be wherever she was, it seemed like nothing could get her down. Everyone seemed threatened by her at first and I envied the energy she had. That quickly changed as everyone soon became great friends with her. I was indifferent. It is always tough meeting new people for me. I wanted to know everything about her, but I wanted to remain “the tough guy” as well.

A few of us would always wait outside work before and chat. I would usually sit with a book and read for a hour. I remember watching her walk down the sidewalk and saying hello to her. It wasn’t anything special, but I remember seeing her face light up a little bit. I don’t think she thought much of me to start with, like I said, I can be very stand offish at first. Finally one day she was standing next time while I was ringing food in for a customer when she said, “wow you smell really good.” She proceeded to bury her face in my chest and smell me throughout the day. Perhaps that is creepy, but I dug it.

Through our many ups and downs, I am proud to say she is mine. I don’t know how I did it or if I even deserve someone as beautiful and smart and loving as her. All I know is I wake up happy every day. I mentioned earlier that she is one of the most influential people in my life. Normally, I think, we hear that someone like John Lennon or MLK Jr. as influences. I picked her because shown me so much about my own life and how to get it back on track. My seizures have caused me much pain and suffering in the past and have drastically altered how I live my life. Now it is time to move forward from all that and begin a successful bright future today.
