2010: Vegetarian Day 3 (72)
It was today that I realized that kicking this habit of no meat will not really begin to affect me until 7-10 days. I have not eaten beef before in a weeks time, then after that I used couldn’t help myself anymore and binged for a while. Right now, I’m along for the ride. I plan on doing a little more research tomorrow on some other items that I can and can’t eat. I imagine that being a vegetarian will open my eyes to a lot of things, food selection being one of those things. I didn’t pay much attention to what I was eating. All I needed was a good salad and some pasta. I know that these will be losing interest really fast. I have currently made a list for myself to try in the coming weeks, because as I’ve said before, week two will be the hardest, and hopefully find a proper protein substitute.
I spent a good amount of time catching up on some Carnivale as well. If you have not seen it I definitely suggest that you find it. It takes place during the dust bowl, great depression, and brings an interesting twist to the battle between good and evil. Between a lonely carny castaway and a minister who has lost his god. It lasted two seasons on HBO and then canceled. I was not a happy camper when I found that out.
I have received a few messages from a few of you “thanking” me for trying out this whole vegetarian thing and it means a lot, I guess. It’s A) a condition of will power B) a thirst for knowledge on a group of people I’m not entirely familiar with and C) a way to break up the monotony of my current lifestyle.
side note: there are people you can trust, and then people that you trust. remember that.
