2010: Frustration Day (34)

Frustration to me is the inability to grab a hold of the small tasks at hand.  When everything has crumbling from jump-street…from that point on you can’t catch up with anything that you need to.  That was was how Day 34 of 2010 went.  Was there a major catastrophe? This is me, to put it simply. I like many different subject matters. Many of which overlap each other. I enjoy what I do every single day and thought it was only fair to bring everyone else a piece of that. You were curious enough to click a link to find out what tomshaggy.com was and here you are. Tomshaggy.com is a digital recreation of what it is like to be me. I can't tell everyone my stories or show every single person what I'm interested in right now, so I post it here. Content ranges from stories I have to tell, items that occupy my mind throughout the day and even a look into my daily activities. Read, enjoy, comment, respond, ask questions. All acceptable. Hope to hear from you all soon.

Frustration to me is the inability to grab a hold of the small tasks at hand.  When everything has crumbling from jump-street…from that point on you can’t catch up with anything that you need to.  That was was how Day 34 of 2010 went.  Was there a major catastrophe? No.  It is the frustration level of this day that separates it from every other day.  Across the board, small problems become big problems.  More often than not, its the big problems that are fixed relatively easily.  We tend to ignore the smaller issues for the time being, but there comes a day of reckoning where all those small things finally all completely fail and create one giant problem.  To protect the innocent I will refrain from details, but from the start I could not catch up with anything that I had to do.  The only thing I did successfully, in my eyes, was walking out the front door when the day “was over.”  You best believe I was on the verge of updating my resume yesterday.

The feeling of never having a moment to catch your breath is never a great feeling either.  That “I don’t even feel comfortable standing for a minute because someone will see me doing nothing” feeling.  In that very instant, our bosses turn the corner or walk in for the first time and see that we aren’t doing something when we all know that we had just been running around like a fool for the previous 6 hours.  Needless to say, I’m not a fan of this feeling.

This will sound silly, but I was thinking it.  The world is cold.  Before you say anything, I KNOW ITS WINTER, but it doesn’t change the fact that the northern hemisphere, for the most part, has turned into an icebox.  My thought process goes as follows: Cold air–>Winter–>Space–>Sun–>Distance From–>What if?  The frustration of this portion of my day comes from the questions of distance and space and the sun.  What if we were another mile closer or farther from the sun?  What then?  Would we be a planet of ice for 6 months out of the year and a planet of sweltering temperatures the other six months?  Perhaps we wouldn’t even exist, or maybe we’d exist in a heightened or obsolete form of our species.

The best part of the day…the customers I dealt with were all awesome.  Everyone was very pleasant.  I saw so many people, they brought in their new coupons and enjoyed their first experience and promised another visit and went on their way, for that, I am thankful.

side note: i just realized that if i left my facial hair grow long enough my eye brows could connect with my beard. no words.
