2010: Day 20
20. That’s such a nice number to say and look at. This guy has met me at least three times and still didn’t know who I was…is my face that forgettable. Do I not make an impression?
Today I would like to spend a little time discussing the art of filtering dialogue. Lord know, I am not always the best, perhaps this website is a tribute to that, but there is a time and place for everything. You ever been a conversation with three or four people and the dialogue is flowing well through all the parties. Suddenly, there is a quick break in conversation and one of the parties just blurts out something that is slightly off topic and hyper-inappropriate. It seems to happen on a regular basis in my life. Sometimes, I am the perpetrator, but I am using it as a method of lightening the mood and easing tension. For some it is quite apparent that its a cry for help. It takes everyone by surprise usually, everyone kind of looks around at each other because they know what they heard, but they just can’t believe it.
1 word: Manswers. Who hasn’t seen this show? Every guys dream right. The show has no real point, and I can’t imagine a lot of guys really care about half the stuff the put on their, but it is fun game night trivia. How many boobs does it take to screw in a light bulb? You know that’ll be final jeopardy next week. The answer is two by the way, but they need to be D’s in order to have enough surface contact to create the correct amount of torque. I’m an asshole, I know.
4 words: 1000 Way to Die. This is another show on Spike TV that show idiotic ways that people have died. The names are changed to protect the deceased and/or their families. From bungee jumping from a cherry picker to car surfing to getting kicked in the forehead by a cow and suffocating in a wall bed. They show graphic animations of the anatomical effects that these falls and collisions have on the human body. Freaking great.
Work, Meetings, 2 TV shows and two cups of coffee. Not such a bad day.
side note: think of your place of work. think of last man standing. think of the possibilities.
