Someone Only We Know

When my eyes opened this morning they opened with the realization that we meet endless amounts of people everyday.  People and their personalities bombarding us constantly through out the day.  Most of those people pass by us as if they hadn’t really been their at all.  Every now and again one comes along that, even [...]

This is me, to put it simply. I like many different subject matters. Many of which overlap each other. I enjoy what I do every single day and thought it was only fair to bring everyone else a piece of that. You were curious enough to click a link to find out what tomshaggy.com was and here you are. Tomshaggy.com is a digital recreation of what it is like to be me. I can't tell everyone my stories or show every single person what I'm interested in right now, so I post it here. Content ranges from stories I have to tell, items that occupy my mind throughout the day and even a look into my daily activities. Read, enjoy, comment, respond, ask questions. All acceptable. Hope to hear from you all soon.

When my eyes opened this morning they opened with the realization that we meet endless amounts of people everyday.  People and their personalities bombarding us constantly through out the day.  Most of those people pass by us as if they hadn’t really been their at all.  Every now and again one comes along that, even though they are there for a short period, they make such a major impression on us that it changes our very being.  These people change the very way we look at the world, or the way we love, but in an instant are gone.  They go as quick as they came.

They are not forgotten.  On the contrary, they are remember for the major transformation that they allowed inside of all they touched, in this case a single person.  The separation is often painful for both parties, but doors open and close that makes everyone all the wiser. We see this a lot of times with artists.  Rarely, are the most brilliant artists of our times welcomed with open arms while they are in their prime or still alive.  It isn’t until they are dead and gone that we appreciate everything they have ever done.  The benefit we have as emotional beings is that we have the ability to appreciate and thank those who have changed our lives.  The next step is doing it.

Many of these very people have helped me become the person I am today.  Regret is not an option in my book.  To regret something is to take back the things that put you where you are today.  I can’t say that the road was the most gracious, but nevertheless, I thank them.  The unfortunate fact of the matter is that we never know who these people are until they have passed through our life. All we can do is thank them in some way for being the person that they are and the person they have helped us grow in to.
