In These Sheets
Eyes shifting, slowly, from left to right…standing still, nobody in sight. Just me, brushed by the breeze…a lit alleyway, deep within the city, I’m walking and I can barely see. I’m a mess. When I opened my eyes, I found myself here, how and why, where are my tears? I know I cried, my eyes, they’re bloodshot red…a dark figure, in the distance…I see you there; I ran toward you, you disappeared. Where are you, why did you leave…I need your help, take me somewhere else, please! I’m stuck in this city, walking around…between these tall buildings and with this cold breeze. Sit down; take a breather, its time to think…I must help me, there’s no one else around…sitting on this empty turned over crate, I put my chin in my hands, I’m tapping my feet…I opened my eyes, in an empty room all alone…you’re still running from me…my only real struggle is untangling my feet from these sheets.
